Proven Courtroom Experience
Meredith is a managing partner at Chacon, Campbell & Alexander, PLLC. and brings over 22 years of experience as a trial lawyer, most of which was spent prosecuting criminal and civil child abuse, human trafficking and domestic violence cases in Bexar County. In 2015, she was appointed by the Bexar County District Attorney to a newly created position where her main focus was to be a liaison between law enforcement and CPS. Part of her position involved training both groups on ensuring child safety and how to obtain a successful prosecution.
In 2017, Meredith was nominated to the Children’s Justice Act Task force for Texas, and has continued her work with the task force to provide ad litem and criminal defense perspective to the group even after leaving prosecution. Additionally, Meredith was a member of the very first Statewide Multidisciplinary Team convened by the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas, with a goal of high-level collaboration to address issues in child abuse investigation and prosecution.
After leaving the District Attorney’s Office in 2018, Meredith worked at San Antonio’s children’s advocacy center (ChildSafe) where she coordinated multidisciplinary collaboration to improve child abuse prosecutions and worked on formation of the care coordination team addressing the needs of child sex trafficking victims in Bexar County.
In January of 2020 Meredith went into partnership with two other former prosecutors and opened Chacon, Campbell & Alexander, PLLC. The firm concentrates on criminal and family law and as a private attorney she now represents children and parents involved in the CPS legal system as an ad litem attorney. Meredith was appointed by the County Judge Nelson Wolff to the Bexar County Child Welfare Board in 2018, and served on the board until 2022. She also is a frequent speaker and presenter in the legal community and child advocacy arena based on her work in child welfare in Bexar County.
